what of my lady's feet?

I created WHAT OF MY LADY’S FEET? as part of Body Bits, a series of performances in response to the exhibition Huguette Caland: Bribes de corps at Arts Club Chicago.

In this performance I reacted to genderplay in the film Shakespeare in Love in order to make sense of my own gender embodiment and a fragmented series of romantic relationships. I tasked myself with sprinting repeatedly between the stage and the back of the house to exhaust myself, escape my comfort zone, and physically adapt the gondola scene in the film.

The piece concludes with an audience member braiding my hair while we share experiences of self-deception.
