the neo-futurists sell out
2023
I was lead writer and a performer on this collaged, ensemble-created interrogation of capitalism and friendship. Directed by Lavina Jadhwani.
We incorporated the audience into a 65-minute board meeting featuring whiteboarding, swivel chair choreography, and rock & roll. The central symbol of the piece was my childhood house; its sale and eventual fate as a corporate-owned rental reflected national economic decline and my family’s slow fragmentation.
The cast created songs and experimental soundscapes using tapes, banjo, drum machine, bricks, and more.
